COUPON ABBREVIATIONS & ACRONYMS

I've had a lot of feedback that people don't understand the abbreviations and acronyms that I use here on the blog. In an effort to make it more user-friendly, I've come up with the following list. If you'd like me to add more, please email me at savespendrepeat@gmail.com. Thanks!


Couponing Abbreviations


RR = Register Rewards (Walgreens)

ECB = Extra Care Bucks (CVS)

SCR = Single Check Rebates (Rite Aid)

WYB = When You Buy

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (which means your experience may vary from store to store)

OOP = Out of Pocket

ONYO = On Your Next Order

CATALINA/CAT = A coupon that prints out at the register

CRT = Cash Register Tape (like a catalina)

IVC = Instant Value Coupon (at Walgreens)

BOGO/B1G1 = Buy one Get one free

FAR = Free After Rebate

IP = Internet Printable (coupon)

MIR = Mail In Rebate

SCR: Single Check Rebate

MCF = Manufacturer’s Coupon

SC = Store Coupon

RP = Red Plum coupon insert

SS = Smartsource coupon insert

P&G = Procter and Gamble coupon insert

PSA =

WT = Winetag is a coupon that can usually be found hanging from the neck of wine bottles, hence the name.
BLINKIES - Coupons that are found in these nice little machines on aisles in all types of stores.

TEARPADS- are coupons found in the store that you tear off of what is usually a whole pad of coupons.

HOME MAILERS - These are coupons that are mailed out to your home by companies.

PEELIES- These are coupons found on product that have to be peeled off.

STACK -  This is when you use a Manufacturer's coupon (MFC) with a store coupon (SC). You can do this at several stores, most commonly Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid. This allows for greater savings than you would normally get because you're able to use two coupons on ONE item!
